Urban Forestry, Ornamental tree

Our services are intended to private owners, business parks administrators, property managers.

According to your needs, we may help you with:

tree management planA management guide:

This consist in an analysis of your site and advices to optimise the management of trees.

These guidelines will advice you on the best practices (for example: to protect trees from excessive pruning). This, in order to optimise the overall costs for a comprehensive multi-year programme. The aim of a tree management plan is also to inventory and to evaluate trees health but also to anticipate costs and the need for new plantation.

tree management planA multi-year management mandate to take care of the complete management of your trees in the long term.

In this case, we will assist you with creating a periodic trees check schedule. The mandate also includes to look for qualified service providers and the follow-up of works execution. That is:

– production of instructions document for pruning companies,
– follow-up of the execution of pruning works in the crown, rigging, protection of trees or tree felling.

What is a tree management plan?

A sustainable tree management is a costs saving management strategy!

tree management

Sustainable tree management includes understanding and respecting the identity of trees and their biological needs.

Maintaining a health log of each tree and their evolution is important. It makes it possible to understand trees development.

As graduates in tree biology, we are keen to respect trees and our mission is to provide ‘state of the art’ management services.

Ideally, a well-managed tree is healthy and well-adapted to its soil and environment. It will also not have suffered any injuries such as through pruning. However, the situation is very different with urban trees. Urban trees are planted in artificial environments where they have to coexist with human society. Thus, many constraints are imposed on them.

The follow up of tree development

tree management

A tree management plan makes it possible to transcribe the history of a tree or a group of trees and all the data concerning them in a precise inventory.

Thus, this trees development memory allows to plan in advance the actions to be carried out in order to maintain them.

Preventing the effects of climate change and adapting effectively

Additionally, a tree management plan identifies trees population’s weaknesses and the suitability of new trees plantation for the future. This also ensures interventions are carried out in the right order and manner.

The analysis includes sanitary, environmental supervision, adaptation to climate change, landscape evolution.

tree managementThis makes it easier to identity specific interventions (trees care), urgent interventions (trees expertise, tree felling), or regular maintenance of trees (deadwood).

In addition, a tree management plan also facilitates the anticipation of ageing trees.

This essential information leads to planting new adapted species to climate change (varieties resistant to known diseases or drought).

This is a strategic plan to analyse future actions to be taken and to make a budget projection!

In conclusion, tree management consists of planning and controlling the costs of interventions on trees for cost saving and quality reasons. More importantly, this allows trees preservation over the long term.

What are the different stages in tree management?

Wether in urban areas or in parks and gardens, the different stages of ornamental tree management consist in:

      • Inventory and identify the on-site species,
      • map the species and create a database of their characteristics,
      • Analize the inventory data,
      • Recommend actions to be taken in the short, mid and long term. An estimate of the financial cost of these actions allows to set priorities in a work program,
      • Create of a follow-up program,
      • Monitor the tree management plan implemented and its execution.
